Description:
Interactive Whiteboards are an exciting tool in the numeracy and
literacy block. In the whole class teaching session it is easy to model
strategies and skills then use this information to refer back to during
sharing time. Students love assisting in shared activities and they are
empowered when they see their own work used as a teaching model for
others. The IWB can be used to assess student learning with students
able to showcase their understandings. The whole class share time is
extremely powerful, especially when student work is utilised to discuss
the how and why of their work. Having the work on the IWB for all to
see, makes this accessible to all and promotes discussion focused on the
purpose of the session. Examples of activities students use in
independent small group sessions will also be demonstrated. |
