Review Program OverviewThis Review Program builds on IWBNet’s
international research on digital take off, its insight into what is required to
create successful digital schools, the movement of schools from a paper to a
digital operational paradigm and the extensive experience of the company’s
principals in school appraisal.
The Review Program also complements IWBNet’s groundbreaking work with its
Leading a Digital School Conference.
The Review Program is a confidential, independent process designed to move
the school to the stage where its teaching and administration and communications
systems are predominantly digitally based and where the school is seeking to
take advantage of the opportunities provided within the digital paradigm to
further enhance the quality and effectiveness of the education it provides.
The focus of the Review Program is on the functionality, effectiveness and
impact of the use of ICT in all of the school’s operations and not on the
technology as such.
The Review Program is:
-
Diagnostic, not a
judgemental service
-
Holistic, but focuses only
on those operations that need attention for the school to develop digitally
-
Tightly structured and
built on key areas of review and associated performance indicators
-
Two-phased in that it
requires the school to evaluate its performance, with the IWBNet Consultancy
Team validating the school’s findings
-
Succinct, with a final
report back to the school within a month of the school visit by the IWBNet
Consultancy Team.
The Review Program is an independent assessment of the “digital developments”
within the school and unrelated to any local authority review. However the
concept of a digital school is so broad and far reaching with tentacles into all
of a school’s operations, that information gleaned by the school from this
independent review will inform any other whole school review in which the school
is required to participate.
