Schools are made up of people who “do things” – generally, students learn, teachers teach, and leaders lead. When talking about the digital generation it is ludicrous to think that any of these three things will be done well without the substantial support of well chosen digital technology.
The program is made up of 90+ sessions which cover these three critical areas, all of which are treated from a leadership perspective.
With your leadership hat on you will delve into the following three broad areas and consider how they can be supported and enhanced by the judicious use of digital technology:
- The learning preferences of the digital generation
- Best teaching practice for the digital generation
- Enabling leadership in the digital age.

Keynote Speaker 1: Ian Jukes, Director, 21st Century Fluency Project will present: Understanding the Digital Generation: Learning Attributes
Ian will also present three workshops (one each day of the conference):
- Understanding the Digital Generation: Strategies That Work
- Literacy is Not Enough: 21st Century Fluencies for the Digital Age
- Getting It Right: Aligning Technology Initiatives For Measurable Student Results

Keynote Speaker 2: This keynote will focus on how best to teach the digital generation and what digital teaching tools are available for teachers
Keynote Speaker 3: This keynote will focus on leading and will explore how digital technology can help enable school leadership in the digital age
The 90+ sessions will include the following key issues and considerations:
Learning
- Have we really bothered to understand the learning preferences of this generation of learners?
- How does this generation of learners learn?
- Is there a “must have” digital technology for this generation of learners?
- If our current generation of learners is not learning in the way they prefer what are we doing to them?
Teaching
- How are the great teachers currently teaching with digital technology?
- Is it acceptable for teachers not to use digital technology to support their teaching?
- What are the minimum standards of competence with digital technology that a teacher must reach?
- How can we transform teachers who are not meeting the minimum standards?
Leading
- For a school leader what is the “bottom line”? Should and can it be measured as it is in other industries?
- What digital tools and data can be made available to a school leader so that she knows whether or not her school has truly added value?
- Will school leaders make better decisions if the right digital technology and data is made available to them?
The conference program will be updated on a regular basis. Registered delegates will be informed of each update.
