The Lessons LearntIn recent months, IWB implementation at Eltham has
moved steadily forward. An additional six boards were commissioned first term,
bringing our total to more than 20 - still some way to go before our target of
one in each learning area.
The benefits remain. There is an increasing excitement among those accessing
the boards in terms of their potential. Greater demand for additional training,
extending current skills and the continued use of our multimedia and streamed
video materials reflect this. Staff are motivated by the potential of the
technology.
Particularly motivated at present are our senior science teachers. Now
equipped with boards in many of their teaching spaces, the range of activities,
experiences and just plain "fun" they and their learners are having, is super.

To some extent, the speed of take-up has slowed a little after technology
management was moved from a teacher based management to a business focused one.
This has also resulted in a couple of boards placed in less accessible
locations.
Like any good technology in learning, if the decisions on that technology are
not made by the educators themselves the resulting use and take-up can be less
productive.
